Notre
Dame Junior Boys’ Football
Veronica Gmaz
October 24, 2008
This year Notre Dame
Junior Boys’ Football, coached by Mr. Carter, as well as Mr.
Moschella, Mr. Valovich, Mr. Lostracco, Mr. DiGaetano and Mr.
Ventresca, have a team consisting of 40 players with a season that
runs from early September to mid November.
The boys have had a tough season, losing 4 of their 5 games played
thus far, but with one left this Wednesday October 29th, there’s
still the hope for playoffs.
“If we win, they should go to playoffs in 4th place, and hopefully
cause some turmoil,” shared Mr. Moschella, “ a Cinderella story.”
With such optimism we cannot help but wish our boys the best of luck
in their final game of the regular season. For those interested in
supporting the team, they can help cheer at the final game, to be
played at Notre Dame College School against Holy Cross Wednesday
October 29th. Bring your voices and that Fighting Irish Spirit |

DiGaetano and Mr. Ventresca are proud of the team and their efforts.
Although disappointed with the final outcome, Mr. Carter has high
hopes for next year. “I’m confident that the returning players will

Football Team

November 14, 2008
As Notre Dame progressed to the zone semi finals, the Lakeshore
Gators proved to be too strong, causing the Irish to fall short of
victory. Unfortunately, the gallant effort put forth by the Irish
would go unrewarded as they lost 36-10 in a difficult game. The team
was led by coaches, Mr. Bisci, Mr. Lucchetta, Mr. Valovich and
Mr.Biggar. Those who helped alongside were coaches Mr. Nelson,
Mr.Webster and Mr. Calvert. The coaching staff was pleased with the
effort put forth by the team and is looking forward to the upcoming
season. The captains consisted of Kyle Mataya, Mike Lamarre, Dave
Lostracco, Kyle Danch, Jesse Melna, and Jake Barton. Each of the
captains proved to be great motivators throughout the year,
encouraging the team towards success. The Irish will prove to be a
strong force next year as it is anticipated that they will have many
returning players. |
