In a
world, which ignores the human thirst for God, we are called to
share the living waters of our faith.

A Catholic education at
Notre Dame College School intends to build on the vision of Catholic
education of the Holy Cross Fathers who founded Notre Dame in 1947.
|
|
2. |
Central to that vision
of Catholic education is a very strong emphasis on community.
Committed Catholic Educators are the heart of the Catholic
educational community. Teachers at Notre Dame work hard at becoming
the authentic faith community, which privileges the person of Jesus
and His Gospel teachings.

Religion classes from
grade 9 to 12 are designed to assist students in their own faith
journeys. Such classes provide structured personal moments for
students to come to know and love Jesus more deeply, to develop and
understand the Roman Catholic tradition, and to appreciate the
contemporary challenge facing Christians to become instruments of
Jesus’ justice and peace.

Religion at Notre Dame
is far more than a subject. It is our ideal – and our struggle – to
strive to make the whole educational process at Notre Dame a
religious activity. The personal faith witness of our teachers
Gospel, infused into every subject, enrich and give vitality to a
Catholic Education at Notre Dame. |

SCHOOL LITURGIES AND
RETREATS. We take advantage of the opportunity offered to us as
a Catholic separate school to provide experiences of prayer and
worship. Throughout the year all students at Notre Dame will
participate in scheduled liturgies and retreats. Involvement is
COMPULSORY as it is essential in building commitment and witness to
a Christian faith in our Catholic high school. These activities are
a vital part of our curriculum. By voluntarily choosing Notre Dame
College School, a student agrees that participation is MANDATORY in
the various religious activities including the liturgies, retreats,
and other special events. THESE EVENTS ARE COMPULSORY COMPONENTS
FOR EVERYONE IN OUR CATHOLIC SCHOOL COMMUNITY. THERE WILL BE NO
EXEMPTIONS GRANTED NOR SHOULD THEY BE REQUESTED OR EVEN CONSIDERED.
TRUANCY FROM A LITURGY WILL RESULT IN AN IMMEDIATE SUSPENSION.
Any misbehaviour during a liturgy or retreat will result in
immediate parental contact and/or suspension from school. |

Students are required to
study Religion for four years at Notre Dame and MUST COMPLETE A
RETREAT IN THEIR GRADUATING YEAR IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE
GRADUATION CEREMONY AND THE GRADUATION PROM. |
